Countless are the beliefs, myths, rituals that converge around Mother Earth from ancient times. The history of mankind draws substance from its fertility and so Claudio Capanna in his personal research, ”Mater”. A hymn to mother nature, to fertility, to the sacred feminine, to the basic elements in constant search for balance. Earth is the beginning and end of all forms of life but finds in woman its human representation, a synthesis of creative power and maternal destiny. A telluric divinity, capable of manifesting in everything, and of opening to the sky, since she is the mistress of all places and the guardian of children, from the dawn of time. “Mater” is a chant that contains this epic through images holding a sacred character. In a civilization that has lost the use of the word, they appear as hierophanies that have survived the general oblivion.
